Apple tree pests #874546

Hello, I have been having issues the past few years with my apple crops. They are grow at a homestead level. It appears that some bug is boring into the apples and destroying them before we are able to harvest them. Is there something I can do to treat the trees? If so what is the best timing and should I do this every year? Can I save this year’s apples or is it too late? Thank you!

Hello. I think that you have codling moth, which is a common pest in Michigan especially in blocks where insecticides are not used. It is a hard pest to control organically. We do have a codling moth virus that will help control this pest. It is called CyD-X.
