Hi Jay,

I’m not sure. Perhaps a Sachem Skipper? A photo of the butterfly with open wings would help.

Hi,

 Poweshiek Skipperling is what I am thinking it might be. Quite endangered and pretty rare. It was in a tall grass area and on a yellow flower (Bird-foot Trefoil) in the Prior Lake area. 
These are both descriptions prevalent to this butterfly. I don't have a photo of wings open though. I was actually photographing the flowers and saw this little guy. I know where this is and am going back to try and get some better photos. It is very similar to photos of the Skipperling I found online. ?? I can't let this go in case it's a sighting. Right?
