Raspberry plants #874417

Asked June 24, 2024, 12:02 PM EDT

I noticed our lawn service came to our house a couple weeks ago and the next day I went out to the garden to check on how my raspberry plants were doing. Well, there was a white residue on my nasturtium and my raspberry plants and I noticed the buds on the plants looked dull and the leaves on some of the plants were curling up. Last week I saw the nasturtium was dead and the raspberry plants were yellowing on the bottom of the plants and all the buds were dead. Yesterday, I see that at least a 1/3 of the leaves on the plants had fallen off. What do I do? Do you think they are salvageable? And, if these plants are dead and remove the plants should we completely start over and remove the soil and replant? *Note, this picture was from 6/20/24

Expert Response

Sometimes plants can outgrow herbicide damage.  You could talk to the lawn care company and see what was used to determine if it could be the cause.

Another resource is the Department of Agriculture. They license pesticide applicators and could tell you if the pesticide likely caused the damage if you know the name of it.
