Infestation in tree #874414

I have what I think are mealyworks in the tree in my front yard - I need help to verify and know what to do to treat to get rid of

Those do look like the wooly apple aphid, a pest which we often see in years of rapid growth. There are a variety of treatment options listed in our fact sheet on aphids:https://csfs.colostate.edu/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Aphids-on-Shade-Trees-and-Ornamentals-Fact-Sheet-5.511.pdf. That said, this issue can resolve itself as well if you do nothing, and they are unlikely to damage the tree. Please let me know if you have additional questions.
