Identifying Bee #874405

Asked June 24, 2024, 10:57 AM EDT

When working in the garden we were attacked by these bees. Can you please help me identify them? Please note that they were sprayed with paint that is why they are white.

Expert Response

It's not a bee but a yellow jacket or hornet. I can't tell the species due to the paint on it. You might have accidentally walked over or disturbed a nest entrance in the ground, which is why they attacked.

Hmmmmm.  There was no nest in the area…. Husband was in the middle of the driveway…. The only reason it was painted WHITE AS IT WAS ATTACKING HIM…. We still have it….
