Hello,
My well established Russian Sage has leaves that are browning towards the bottom This has never happened before. Any idea what may be wrong?
Also, my flower garden has mushrooms everywhere! For the most part, I think that is okay but the but I am concerned about the Xylariacee. A tree was taken down in that area several years ago and the roots below are enormous. Could any of the mushrooms be harmful to my plants?
Thank you!

Expert Response
With all the rain we have had this year there are lots of mushrooms out there. They are probably from the dead and dying roots of the tree that was removed, they will not hurt any of your garden plants. It’s all part of nature and taking care of the dead stuff.
Your Russian sage issue may be from too much water or it could be insect feeding. Overall, it looks healthy and this is mostly a cosmetic issue.
I wouldn’t worry about the health of it.
