I recently found a pile of sawdust in my garden. I am eondering what the source is and if it is a problem

I got a reply that told me it was carpenter ants or was dumped accidentally in my yard. Sorry I can not find the reply in all this stuff
Specifically, there were no carpenter ants present. There are no insects at all in the pile. This is visible eye observation.
The pile is in a secluded area of my garden. There is no outside access possible.
If there is no insects nearby, or access possible, I am not sure where it would have come from either. Are there trees overhead?
