Expert Response
With the dry heat we have been experiencing, I suspect that the drying up of leaves is due to water stress. Water deeply, every 3-4 days. I suggest you put out a can in the area which is being watered and measure how much water is actually going into the area. Remember that the tree roots go out 50% beyond the canopy. Aim to get at least an inch of water into the entire root area each time.
