Hi, I'm trying to find an experienced gardener or student who would be interested in helping me with my garden. I live along the Jackson Bottom wetlands so we have a lot of bugs, weather issues, and plant diseases to deal with. I've learned a lot over the years but am getting older and it's hard for me, for example, to dig holes in clay soil and amend the soil. Right now, I'm battling leaf rust on a huge lavaterra (that I love and don't want to lose). I'm going to try a rose drench tomorrow, but may have to cut it all back and hope it comes back next year. I use Neem oil regularly on my roses and it looks like I need to use it on my Rose of Sharon trees also. As the plants get bigger ad the soil returns to it's natural clay state, I am starting to lose mature plants. It's a lot of work.
