We have yellow star shape flowers in our yard and the neighbors as well.They are spreading and was wondering if they will take over all other plants and kill them . Not really sure if it's sedum or what.

Without a picture of the weed, I am merely guessing as to what it is. So, if you could submit a picture, that would be most helpful.
But, If I am totally guessing here, I would bet you have type of sedge. If so, they are a very pesky weed. Once, I verify what it is, I can provide more helpful information.
