Lawn Fungus? #873954

Asked June 20, 2024, 3:08 PM EDT

Looking for help trying to identify my lawn issue that has been happening the last few years. Usually it happens closer to July but this year started early June. Since we have had so much rain I am now leading to it being a fungus. I had started thinking it was because of all the rabbits we have around the house the last couple years. Maybe they are causing a few dead spots but doubt they could be responsible for all this. I did apply some Scott's fungicide the first week of June when I started to notice it. However that didn't seem to do much and is worse now. So looking to confirm what the issue is so it can properly be treated. Note this is in my front yard and full sun.

Hi Brian,

I'm going to give you a few links to look at;

I'm wondering if you have summer patch;

It's hard to say exactly without actually being on the sight and even then there are so many turf issues. I would aerate your lawn and over seed with another species like white clover or selfheal. A more diverse species lawn won't be so susceptible to disease and extreme weather conditions.

Lawns can be such high maintenance, I urge people to shrink their lawn size and increase shrub and perennial borders. Bringing in more wildlife is so enjoyable, especially during our long winter.

I hope this helps,
