Per the attached two pictures, this tree looks healthy in the front, but not so much from the rear. Is it dying? Should it be cut down?

It does look like the tree is declining. There are many reasons this can occur. I would recommend contacting a local tree care company and request a consultation with an arborist. The will be able to evaluate and diagnose, if there are issues, and suggest next steps to support the tree's health.
