Chicken Coop near elderberry bush #873768

Asked June 19, 2024, 12:21 PM EDT

We have 4 pullets (6 weeks old) that we recently moved to their coop. After constructing their run, I happened across information that stated elderberry leaves and stems are toxic to chickens. There is a large elderberry bush that is a few feet away from the run. Although it doesn't poke into the run, the odds of leaves, flowers, stems, etc falling in are likely due to it's proximity. Should I be concerned? They seem to eat anything green.
