I cannot ID this impudent beast. Found on my ground apartment wall. Photo is 5X so I could see features better

Hi Carol.  Thanks for contacting the UVM Extension Master Gardener helpline.  We don’t usually id insects, but in this case, we ran it by the UVM entomologist, Dr. Margaret Skinner.  She tentatively identified the spider as a zebra jumping spider, Salticus scenicus. It is beneficial because it feeds on insects considered pests. https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/68901-Salticus-scenicus
