Asian pear problems #873545

Asked June 17, 2024, 10:37 PM EDT

A pest or a blight is taking a toll on my Asian pear leaves and fruit. Can you identify the problem and suggest a solution?

Lane County Oregon

Expert Response

This could be European pear rust, vectored by cedar trees. It is common in our area. Often the leaves will get masses of orange spores and then it spreads to the fruit. If this does not seem to fit your situation, please get back to us.
