We have a horrible problem with these chafers in vineyard and garden, Yes, we have grass everywhere. and sandy soil. Is there something that can be sprayed on the grass that would go to the roots and kill the chafers as they feed on the grass before they emerge as adults?

Expert Response
Hello Connie,
Control of grubs in the immediate area is possible but not recommended because adults are good flyers and will fly into your area from a distance.
Consider removing the grass and planting an alternative ground cover that is not attractive to the egg laying adults, to reduce the numbers in your soil.
Here are a couple bulletins that discuss rose chafer control.

As always, please read and follow all precautions and directions on any chemical you use; and be sure it is labeled for use on the edible plants you might treat.
