Although we can't see the seed pods clearly in the photo, what we can make out, plus the foliage traits, suggest this is Princess Tree (also called Empress Tree, botanical name Paulownia). It is an invasive species, and unfortunately occurs in every county in Maryland. Despite being already widespread, we encourage gardeners to remove it if on their property. Successful removal might take several attempts, either with cutting-down only or with that action combined with systemic herbicide use to treat the stump or regrowth.
