Excessive rainfall #873409

Asked June 17, 2024, 10:47 AM EDT

It seems to me that vegetables and herbs in the garden are growing slower than normal as are some flowering plants like dahlias with the heavy rains we are experiencing in the Twin Cities. What can we do to combat that?

Expert Response

If your plants are in the ground there is not much that can be done. If they are in pots you can relocate to an area that has some overhead shelter. After the next two days it does look like there is less chance of rain. A few warmer, sunny days will dry things out and plants will begin to grow.
