Expert Response

More information would be very useful. When was your tree planted? How often has it been watered? How much water? It is important to check the soil moisture before watering. Dig down 1-2 inches and check if the soil is dry before watering again. Slightly damp is ok and if  the weather isn’t hot the tree probably doesn’t need water. Wilted and browning leaves are indicators of overwatering or a root problem. Too little water usually causes leaves to look brown along the edge of most of the leaves. Choke cherry are tough trees and if the problem is overwatering it should recover as long as it gets the right amount from now on.
