Oak tree question #873300

Asked June 16, 2024, 10:47 AM EDT

Hello, We have an oak tree that has some bumps and curling on the leaves. We are trying to figure out what it is and if it needs to be treated. Can you please help? Thank you Jessica

Hi Jessica,

I think you have two separate issues.

The bumps are galls on your tree and pretty harmless;

I'm not sure what the black leaf tips are caused from. It could be leaf scorch;

However, I think it's bacterial leaf spot. Scroll down in the next link. I'm starting to see this in other trees in Hennepin County.

I hope this is helpful,
