Have had for 3 years, and wrote last your of year before but you couldn't read my photoes. I got a response from Robert Miller (invasive speciespreventio) who suggested I contact his site.
In short, they occur in daytime at first in asiatic lilies ( leaves and then flowers),then "
next door" is my garlic leaves. M
Last year they got into my brocol which is located 30 feet away this year. Daily I squish 5-13 a day. How can I treat if they get into brocoli or other crops??? I have 2 largish home gardens, a smaller on in the driveway. and tons of foundation flowers. I can send you a photo once I get an email (I am computer/cell phone illierate and photoes are on my i phone. Gretchen Flo, DVM Prof emeritus CVM, [email redacted], [phone # redacted]

Expert Response
Sorry but I cannot respond to this since I do not see any images or description of the pest of concern. It seems from the title that the problem are snails. If that is the case, snails prefer moist conditions and mulch makes the situation worse. There are good and effective snail baits, use them and make the environment less friendly for snails if possible (do not overwater and do not use mulch (straw much, wood mulch, or other organic mulches that increase moisture). Thanks
not sure why no pics other than i forwarded ( i thought)
these snails have been here 3 years
They first showed up in my
Asiatic lilies and then progressed to an foliar perennial and then in my garlic leaves they leave holes they discolor and kill the blossoms. in other years they got into broccolli
They show up in the daytime. I do have mulch leaves around my garlic. I have tried wood ashes, as well as 8EIGHT or 7SEVIN to no avail they are very squishable
These nails can be a quarter of an inch to an inch and our light colored. I hope that my pictures can be attached.
The bait needs to be snail specific. There are available snail baits. No, insecticides will not work well, the products you mentioned are insecticides. You need to buy snail specific products.
