tomato plants wilting #873133

Asked June 14, 2024, 3:04 PM EDT

My tomato plants are staring to wilt from the top, but it is not due to lack of water. It affected 2 plants and now two more. I want to try to stop whatever it is before it goes to all the plants. Any suggestions? I think it may be a bacteria according to my research.

Expert Response

It does sound like a bacteria/fungus. Are your plants very close together? They need air circulating between them to prevent fugal buildup. Pruning also helps - cutting off the bottom leaves and suckers. See the two fact sheet below for tips on pruning tomatoes.

Other things you can do are removing affected leaves and spraying weekly with neem oil or cooper sulfide which are anti fungal organic sprays. Make sure to read and follow the directions on the package.
