Hi Jeanmarie,
Thank you for your cherry tree pest question. I cannot definitively tell from your photos; however, it may be black cherry aphid. This pest feeds on the tips of new growth causing curling and distortion. The aphid produces a sticky substance referred to as honeydew, which can attract other insects.
