mandavilla #872993

Asked June 13, 2024, 3:21 PM EDT

My mandavilla has "milky" leaves - should it be treated or left alone? Will it harm the plant if it is left alone? If treated, home remedies or commercial spray? Thank you!

Hi Patricia,

I can’t be certain because your photo doesn’t enlarge well, but this looks like residue from some kind of spray. Have you sprayed it with water? Or was it like this when you bought it? This could be from a greenhouse treatment.

Powdery mildew would be raised and slightly fuzzy and you could rub it off. Here’s a fact sheet on powdery mildew. Remedies are at the bottom of the page.

Hope this helps.
