I believe our Linden has Basswood thrips. What do I do? #872823

Our Linden has small cupped leaves over the entire tree and the “wings” are deformed. I think it may have thrips for when I cut off some leaves and placed them in a plastic bag, I saw a very small bug that looked very much like your picture of a mature thrips. Is there anything we can do to help our tree?

Expert Response
I apologize it has taken so long to respond to your question. Your linden could have basswood thrips based on your description. Based on how established your linden is I would recommend you contact a tree care company and request an arborist consultation. The arborist will be able to evaluate the full tree, diagnose if there are insects or disease and give recommendation for next steps.
