Wild Mushrooms - Ask Extension
Over 1/2 my planters have mushrooms growing. Full sun and shade. Should I be concerned? Will it effect my vegetable plants?

Over 1/2 my planters have mushrooms growing. Full sun and shade. Should I be concerned? Will it effect my vegetable plants?

Hi Robin,
There must be some wonderful organic matter in your potting media and the mushroom spores have found a perfect place to grow. Simply wear gloves, remove them, and throw them in the trash. Eventually the mushroom populations will decline. It's a good, warm, moist environment, so that's why they are growing.
