Pear tree disease #872742

Asked June 12, 2024, 8:29 AM EDT

My pear tree has some sort of infection or disease that is not affecting any of the apple trees located immediately adjacent to it. Can you tell me what is going on with this tree and how to treat it - preferably organically? Thank you!

Expert Response

Looks like pear rust mite. They tend to make these blisters in a row on either side of the mid-rib. Here is more information on these critters: https://pnwhandbooks.org/insect/tree-fruit/pear/pear-eriophyid-mite
