Home apple trees #872652

Asked June 11, 2024, 3:40 PM EDT

I have two apple trees in my yard and they get attacked each year by the coddling moth. I have sprayed twice this Spring and so far, the fruit looks good. How often should I spray going forward or can I stop now?

Wayne County Michigan

Expert Response

Hi Gregory,

Glad your sprays are working. Codling moth is a summer long pest with multiple generations. The first generation is currently ending in Michigan, but we are anticipating at least one more generation this summer.

I would advise that you continue to spray for codling moth.

Best,
