Referral to a tree specialist #872635

Asked June 11, 2024, 1:59 PM EDT

We have two large trees in our yard that have severely deteriorated and look precarious. I'm looking to hire a tree specialist not associated with a tree removal company to come and assess the two trees. We live in Shorewood, MN. Many thanks, Ron Zenk

Expert Response

You don’t say what kind of trees you have. There are different considerations for each: Ash, Elm, Oak etc.

if you choose to find a tree care professional be sure to ask questions up front to feel confidant in their expertise.

You may want to call the city of Sherwood to see if they have a city forester willing to come out to look at them. If it is Dutch Elm disease, Emerald Ash Borer or Oak wilt, they may have requirements for you to respond to the issues.

If yo feel they are unsafe you want to act now to avert any damage to property or persons.
