Illnesses from exposure to toxins emanating from wastewater management #872594

Asked June 11, 2024, 11:32 AM EDT

The communities surrounding our local wastewater plant are suffering health and economic consequences perceived to be the result of off-gassed toxins. Based on the findings of individuals and recent presentations, the potential for degradation of health underpins the apparent inconveniences of the off-putting odors. Accessing the professional body of knowledge through the Maryland Extension Services may help to either add to or alleviate the growing health concerns. The facility has shared ownership between the capital city of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County...the County holds responsibilty for management of the facilities. All current activities undertaken by the management are devoted to monitoring the outputs limited to Hydrogen Sulfate. Neighbors are attempting to compare the reported measurements to OSHA and WHO, concerns exist about the impact of other material, e g., ammonia, Facebook postings are full of health issues never before encountered, ETC! The situation seems an ideal for for a visit (and perhaps divine intervention) by professionals who can engage with a broad spectrum of knowledge and resources. At this time, the communities are looking at another period of monitoring, engineering reports captured in graphs and no attempt at resolution until completion of the study in an Oct-Nov timeframe. Concerns linger for the unknown consequences in the interim and lack of resources to implement change after. Written on my cellphone, so apologies for poor editing.
