What is the species of my tree #872581

Asked June 11, 2024, 10:40 AM EDT

Hello- we have a raspberry patch near our oak trees. It appears that an acorn was planted within our raspberry plant and started to grow a tree. We replanted the tree and the tree is now growing some kind of raspberry like fruit. Is this a current species or did the oak/maple cross with a raspberry plant? I am providing pictures. I can also provide additional pictures if requested.

Expert Response

What you have is a white Mulberry tree. They tend to plant themselves everywhere. If you choose to keep it, understand that it will reseed a lot. They are sometimes called a nuisance tree.
