Dying shrubs #872574

Asked June 11, 2024, 10:17 AM EDT

Our Hicks Yews are turning yellow and look like they are dying. The tops are still green but very quickly all of a sudden the needles in the center are falling off. Would you have suggestions or answers to why this is the case. Thanks

What are your watering practices and how were they planted?

The most common problem for Yew bronzing is wet feet and over watering. If you have heavy soil that doesn't drain well, it can lead to standing water around the roots, causing rotting and disease setting into the root system. Planting preparation can make a big difference if your soil is not ideal.
