Good evening,
I'm new at landscaping and have a couple questions about what to do with one part of my yard. The western portion of my yard is a steep hill that I'm tired of mowing. I'm hoping to plant some low growing ground cover with a few native plants interspersed. My first question is do you have any recommendations for the ground cover portion? Since it's the western slope, it has a mix of afternoon sun and partial shade. I'm hoping to plant something that needs very little to no maintenance. Also, do I need to kill off the grass before planting or will the ground cover "take over" once established? Any suggestions would be helpful!
Thanks much!

You could go with prairie grasses. https://www.prairieresto.com/categories/prairie-grasses/<personal data hidden>15805303
or ornamental grasses

In other words, i need from you a feel for where you think you want to go and then can help you narrow the choices further.
