Could you please tell me if you think my oak tree is suffering from oak wilt?

Expert Response

There are a number of conditions that can affect oaks.  Oak wilt usually starts with leaves dying in the top part of the tree, working their way down to the lower branches and it primarily affects red oaks.  Your tree appears to be a white oak.   The darkened edges of the leaves on your oak look more like anthracnose, although it is difficult to diagnose remotely.  I'm attaching some links that include photos to help you identify what is going on with your tree.  You can also submit a sample to the Plant Disease Clinic at the U of Mn or consult an arborist.  Information on these is also attached.  Good l luck with your oak.
