Is it safe to trim nuisance branches from an oak tree and a cra bapple tree this time of year? The low handing branches make it difficult to mow the lawn under each tree.

It is not ideal to trim branches this time of the year, but if you only trim the branches that are in the way, you should be ok. Trim only what you need and wait until late winter,early spring to do any further trimming. Watch your trimmed areas for possible insects or disease.
