insect egg identification #872436
Asked June 10, 2024, 2:11 PM EDT
Hello!
I was trimming the suckers off of my chokecherry tree yesterday in Colorado Springs, and found these eggs on many leaves. There was obvious signs of aphids, with ants and honeydew residue, so I started removing the suckers, but I also saw ladybugs mating in the same area. So now, I'm wondering if these are aphid or ladybug eggs. Searching online was inconclusive, so I wanted to check in with you to see if you could identify these eggs before I panic and remove them all. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you.
Best wishes,

Thanks for reaching out. That does not look like ladybug eggs. Usually their eggs are clustered close together on the underside of leaves with a yellowish colors. You probably have ladybugs there because they were attracted by the aphids. Here's a link with a little more info for future reference.
