Rose bush leaves/insects? #872417

Asked June 10, 2024, 12:48 PM EDT

Our tea rose bushes have many healthy roses and buds. The leaves however are starting to look diseased. Many small holes and brownish spots. Same thing happened last year. I do use BioAdvance rose and flower care.

Expert Response

Not a disease but rather an insect issue. Looks like roseslug damage. If you can see the little green worms/larvae, you could treat with an insecticide. If they have already matured and gone , there is no benefit to treating. Here is a link for more direction on managing the situation. https://extension.umn.edu/yard-and-garden-insects/sawflies#roseslug-1044161
