Can you please confirm if this vine is a native Virginia Creeper? If I let it grow will it strangle the small tree or can I just leave it alone? Thank you!

Yes, that is our native Virginia Creeper vine.
Here is our page on it:

We can't see what tree you are referring to but if it is very young you could redirect the growth of the vine onto the fence or for use as a groundcover.

Hi Christine,
Thank you for the quick reply. I’m relieved to be able to not have another invasive vine to deal with.
The tree is poking out of the top of the photo showing the vine climbing upwards. It’s behind the fence and maybe about 7 inches diameter. The Virginia Creeper climbs on the fence and tree. I will try to redirect back to the fence.
You're welcome.
Yes, it's nice to find you have a 'good' vine in the yard.
It can also be pruned back severely if and when needed.
