What is this garden weed? #872381

What is this garden weed? Is it edible? It has a white seed stalk and is growing among our strawberries. The second photo show weed growing in our lawn. Is it the same weed as what is growing in our strawberries.

In both pictures, the weed is plantain (Plantago major) - a common weed introduced by the English hundreds of years ago and has naturalized in North America.  It has medical uses and can be eaten,  but in my garden, I pull it out.
