Shasta Daisy and Asters Yellow #872210

Asked June 08, 2024, 4:14 PM EDT

Are Shasta daisies susceptible to Asters yellow? How can I tell if that's what they have? Could it be something else?

Expert Response

Your photo does look like Aster Yellows.  Probably would be best to remove the plant.  Besides that, the plant has been a feeding ground for insects.  It could have been leafhoppers doing all that damage and they do transmit the disease.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. I've been in denial. I'll remove tomorrow.
