Help identifying a substance in my garden #872175

I was hoping to get an idea of what this substance is near the base of my sweet pepper plant and my jalapeño plant. It reminds me of eggs. It appears to have a jelly or sticky texture to it was well but looks like small ball shapes in it.

I believe it is a fungus or slime mold. I reached out to a mycologist friend.  Could you send more close up pics?

Hi Roxanne, i unfortunately don’t have any other photos. I scooped it out that day and tossed it to be on the safe side.

Regretully without additional photos we can't definitely identify the slime mold/fungus.  It was likely feeding off the bark mulch and should pose no threat to your peppers.
