I have a front yard with grass that has a lot of weeds and crab grass. It also is pretty uneven with patchy spots and the soil is hard and clay. I plan on removing the weeds and aerating as well as grading it and overseeding once the soil is amended. I am wondering what I should grade and amend with if the soil is clay. I plan on buying from here: https://www.bestbuyintown.biz/products-services/top-soil/ they have many different mixes and I don’t know which one is the most appropriate

Hi Vi and thanks for your question about rehabilitating your lawn.
Lawns can be quite complicated here in the Willamette Valley, and unfortunately, just adding soil and re-seeding doesn't always give the results you want. I will attach an article that explains soil, irrigation, seeds, mowing, fertilization and more. You can use this as a resource to decide how best to approach your clay lawn, because just adding soil will not improve the drainage which is one of the chief problems with getting lawns to grow here.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
