White spots on Cannabis #872147

Asked June 07, 2024, 10:59 PM EDT

This white stuff has recently appeared on cannabis plants in my greenhouse. Originally it was just a handful of upper leaves and now it is on most leaves. I have had a lot of challenges maintaining control of my heat in the greenhouse so installed a fogging system to manage my humidity, heat, and vpd. All is great but my humidities are 60-80% basically all the time to keep my vpd in line. I’m now dropping that out of mold concern. About one week into fogger use this white stuff appeared on the leaves and I noticed slight webbing between them. The white stuff scratches off with a little effort. I’m thinking mites or fungus but might also be benign like jumping spiders and calcium from water droplets. I had some thrips hanging around so released ladybugs early this week and they all left or died. Laid nematodes in the soil as a preventative. But I can’t find much evidence of insects throughout that would explain this over or under leaves even under 20x magnification. A couple eggs and larvae here and there and few bugs when I shake the trees but generally in good shape. Any thoughts? Ideas for treatment? Thinking of insecticidal soap but don’t want to go there without diagnosis. Pics of concern attached.

The University of Minnesota does not have research-based resources about
growing Cannabis in Minnesota for individual gardeners. As the Master
Gardener Volunteer Program does for any plant without University of
Minnesota supported research, we recommend sharing other University
based resources, like this Cornell University source and others. For additional information about the law in Minnesota and its impacts, refer to the Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management.
