Is this a sapling a red maple? I found this growing in a garden. I do have a Red Maple tree in my yard.

Is this a sapling a red maple? I found this growing in a garden. I do have a Red Maple tree in my yard.

It's a maple, but I'm not sure which. The deep lobing looks like a silver. If you have a red nearby and you think this is a seedling from the mother plant, then possibly it is a red.
A word of caution. If the nearby tree is actually "Autumn Blaze", which is a cross between a red maple and a silver maple, its seeds won't necessarily come true and, in fact, you may end up with a silver maple.
