I’m trying to identify this insect that all over my hops. It flys similarly to a fly, but also has yellow and black. I have attached a picture to hopefully make identification easier. Is there anything I can do to prevent these from creating holes on the hops leaves? Thank you

Hi Cindy, Any chance you have additional photos besides the one included? I cannot quite see the face/eyes/antennae. With what I can see it almost appears to be a predatory hover fly which is beneficial.
