Pine Beetle? #872016

Wondering if the yellow popcorn like sap balls on this tree are a sign of pine beetle? Lower part of trunk has about 20 popcorn balls.

Hi Christina,
It looks like it might be mountain pine beetle, but hard to tell for sure from the photos. I'm happy to do a field visit, or you can send a few more photos that include the entire tree so I can see what type of tree it is. My direct contact info is below.
