Why are you (University of Maryland Extension) recommending non-native invasive plants like Liriope and day Hemerocallis? Here's the link where it's shown.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. That is an older list of plants that is in need of revision. In addition to the two plants you mentioned, there were a couple of others on that list that were questionable. Until we can do a more comprehensive review and update, I have removed that list of plants from the page, and there are links that point readers to some of our other helpful plant lists: recommended native plants, grasses, and groundcovers.
