Transplanted crepe myrtle #871917

Asked June 06, 2024, 2:49 PM EDT

We dug up a smaller crepe Myrtle and placed in pot and wet the soil but we’re not able to replant for 4 days. We added water to the pot but all the leaves dried up and feel crunchy. Should we trim off the branches with wilted dry leaves and see if it will come back to life?8

Expert Response

You can remove the dry leaves by gently pulling your hands over the branches. but don't prune the branches yet.  Keep watering it and it should sprout some new leaves.  You can prune any dead tips after it resumes growing.
