I'm trying to dig out some Bishop's goutweed, and I need to know how to dispose of it. I know that it shouldn't be composted, but can I add it to yard waste bags collected by the city?

Good Morning Dan,
Thank you for contacting the U of M Extension Service.
Here is a link from the Wisconsin DNR about Bishop's goutweed: https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/Invasives/fact/BishopsGoutweed
It appears this weed is on the Wisconsin list of invasives, but I could not find it on the MN DNR website of invasive plants.
You might check with your city about the yard waste bags. Some municipalities heat their compost to kill pathogens and seeds. You could still put it in the yard waste bags.
Good Luck!
