I was wondering if y’all had any guidelines or recommendations on canning in steel/tin lined cans? I have an all American can sealer, and am using 6-8oz steel cans with 307mm mouth. The only references I found online were either very old, or was restricted to fish and game meats. Can anything able to be pressure canned, be canned into tins? I do both forms of canning, however tins are very practical for me when going to my off grid cabin and jostling on a bumpy road. Thank you!

I am sorry to say we do not have up to date research for home canning in steel/ tin cans. All the research was early on. The only state that might have something is Alaska with all the fish and meat canning and they have instructions for canning meat and fish in cans. The principles will be the same BUT the can sizes are not the same as our standard canning jars so I would assume the processing times would have to be researched. You might reach out to Alaska and see if they have anything. Here is their publication list. https://www.uaf.edu/ces/publications/database/
